YAMAHA is back again to rock Indian biking scenario with their new offering the YAMAHA YZF R15, Yamaha was the king of Indian industry in 80's and 90's with their superb 2 stroke bikes like the mighty YAMAHA RD350 , RX100 , RXG , RX135 and RXZ . They discontinued those bikes because of new emmission standards . Still there are so many people are fulfilling their dreams with these beautys . Now they are back with their new beasts.
Yamaha says they are gonna roll out 3 bikes this year , The all new Gladiator (RS & SS) , R15 and Fz15 . They already launched the new Gladiator last January , R15 will be out on this June. and the FZ15 in the Deewali season.
R15 sports a 150cc mill ,which is capable of making it the fastest Indian bike.Yamaha still not mentioned the power figures of the bike . I hope it might be around 20 BHP.
Now you will think that it only sports a 150cc motor then what makes the bike so special ?

DELTABOX FRAME-This is the frame which Yamaha use in their bigger R-series bikes like the R1 and R6. The same deltabox frame is redesigned for the R15.
The Cylinder is known as DiASil ( Die-cast-Alluminium -Silicon) , Which is an all alluminum Cylinder. Which increases the cooling performance by 60% at same time it reduces the weight of the cylinder by 20%.
The piston used here is a forged piston which is lighter by 20% than conventional cast Alluminium pistons . Hence more performance .
The bike uses Liquid cooling system for cooling the engine. Remember the liquid cooling systems from the Pulsar 220/200?? . The cooling system in R15 uses a water jacket around the cylinder for coolant flow . this not only cools the engine also it absorbs mechanical noise and vibrations from the engine.
R15 is a fuel injected bike , It uses a 6-hole type fuel injector and have 4 valves/ cylinder . This ensures optimum air fuel mixture and better combustion.
All these features are taken from the bigger bikes like the YZF R1, MT-01 etc.
Karizma's days are over???? Just wait for couple of months, we can see.
